Job Summary:
Milan Family Practice Clinic is seeking a professional and customer-focused Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients. This role supports daily clinic operations by answering phones, checking in patients, scheduling appointments, maintaining records, collecting payments, and assisting clinic staff as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet and check in patients in a courteous, professional manner
- Answer and route phone calls promptly
- Schedule patient appointments
- Collect payments and verify insurance information
- Maintain patient records, including scanning and filing
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Computer, typing, and phone skills required
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Prior healthcare or medical office experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology a plus
- Bilingual skills a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent sitting, talking, and computer use
- Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, or reaching
- Infrequent lifting of 50+ lbs
- Ability to work near mechanical parts and in moderate to high noise levels
- Good visual, auditory, and manual dexterity
- Ability to work in stressful environments
